Kayla Riera-Gomez

Kayla Riera-Gomez is an experienced litigator and mediator—certified in Circuit Civil and Family mediation. She is the founder of Sunshine State Mediation. Prior to focusing her time on mediation, her legal practice included insurance defense representing clients in catastrophic personal injury, foster care and adoption related litigation, plaintiff side child welfare litigation, family law, employment, and domestic commercial litigation.

Prior to practicing law, she worked for the Florida Legislature as a Legislative Assistant to leaders in both the Florida House of Representatives and Florida Senate, gaining extensive skills in negotiation.

Ms. Riera-Gomez is an active member of the community. She is a past President of the Coral Gables Bar Association, past Board Member of the Miami Dade County Bar Association, and Vice Chair of the Eagles Nest Fund supporting Coral Gables Elementary.

A graduate of Florida State University, Ms. Riera-Gomez earned her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. She is admitted to practice in Florida as well as the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.
